Lochlea Harvest Third Crop is a Lowland single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 46% ABV. It is the third in a final set of four limited editions and closes the distillery's seasonal trilogy.
The whisky was double matured in refill bourbon barrels and port hogsheads, together with an oloroso sherry butt. This gives a different take on the sweet, summery profile of the Harvest releases.
The nose brings bright red grapes, fresh strawberry jam and clotted cream. The palate is sweeter, with baked apple pie and white chocolate, and the finish is balanced, with cracked black pepper.
