Lochlea Orchard & Oak is a Scottish single malt from Lochlea Distillery, bottled at 46%. It is aged in oak casks that previously held cider or apple wine, which gives a fruity, lightly spiced profile.
On the nose there are fresh and baked apples, pears, vanilla and toasted wood, with a delicate herbal touch. The palate starts soft and round, with apple, honey, caramel and wood, and a quiet complexity from gentle spice and oak. The finish is medium to long, lingering on ripe fruit and wood.
