Lochlea – Our Barley (70cl, 46%)

Lochlea Our Barley is a single malt from the Lowlands, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is the new flagship of Lochlea Distillery, which makes its whisky with water from the site and locally harvested barley. The malt is matured in three types of cask in equal parts: first fill bourbon, first fill Oloso and STR casks. STR stands for shaved, toasted and re-charred, a treatment that brings sweet notes of fruit and caramel. The nose is fresh malt like digestive biscuits, with heather honey and pears. On the palate come preserved pears, vanilla, shortbread and the taste of good wood.
