Lochlea – Sowing Edition Second Crop (46%)

Lochlea Sowing Edition Second Crop is a Scottish single malt from Lochlea, an independent, family-run farm distillery that grows its own barley. It is bottled at 46% ABV. It is one of the distillery's seasonal releases, which follow the farm's year; this one marks spring, when the barley is sown. It was matured in first-fill bourbon barrels from higher in the warehouse, where more warmth meant more intense maturation. Sweet red apple and ripe pear lead, followed by vanilla pod and almond oil, and a fresh finish that tastes of pine forest.
