Lochlea – Sowing Edition Second Crop (70cl, 46%)

Second Crop is part of the Sowing Edition series from Lochlea, a Lowland distillery that grows its own grain. This single malt was distilled in 2018 and bottled on 21 March 2022 at 46%, in a 70cl bottle, from an outturn of 7,000 bottles. It was matured in fresh first-fill bourbon barrels and is non-chill filtered and of natural colour. The nose is fresh, with apple, pear, vanilla, citrus and light spice. The palate is soft and lightly sweet, with malt, apple, a peppery note and a touch of oak. The finish is fairly short, with flowers, apple and pastry.
