Lochlea – Sowing Edition (Second Crop) (46%)

Lochlea Sowing Edition (Second Crop) is the second annual release in the distillery's seasonal series, which marks the arrival of spring on the Lochlea farm, when barley is sown for the next harvest. It is a limited-edition Lowland single malt, bottled at 46% ABV. It is matured entirely in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels. For this release the casks were kept higher in the warehouse than for the previous edition. It is non-chill filtered and has no added colouring. The nose has red apple and pear. The palate is sweet and nutty, with vanilla pods and almond oil, and the finish is crisp with a pine forest character.
