Lochlea Sowing Edition Second Crop (46%)

This is a single malt Scotch whisky from Lochlea Distillery, the Second Crop in its Sowing Edition. It is bottled at 46% ABV, without chill-filtering and with natural colour. It matured in first fill bourbon barrels that lay higher in the warehouse. The extra warmth there led to more intense maturation and a clear change in flavour. Sweet red apple and ripe pear come first, followed by vanilla pods and almond oil. The finish is fresh, with a taste of pine forest.
