Long John Special Reserve is a Scotch whisky in a 1.5 litre bottle.
The nose opens markedly sweet, with syrup, vanilla and icing sugar, along with toasted oak, dry grass, orange zest and a very light but noticeable background of peat smoke.
The palate is soft, creamy and medium bodied, with brioche, caramel, honey and a touch of toasted almonds. The grain stays well integrated against nutty notes and a subtle saltiness. The finish is clean and medium in length, ending dry with fine woods and a slight bitterness of chocolate or toasted peanut.
