First fill sherry butt
This is a 56 year old Speyside single malt from Longmorn, distilled on 10 December 1968 and matured throughout in a first fill sherry butt. George Urquhart filled the cask that year, and Gordon & MacPhail bottled it on 3 October 2025 at a cask strength of 54.3%, giving 200 bottles. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour. It belongs to the Connoisseurs Choice Heritage range, which revives the black label the series carried in its early years. The nose opens with beeswax, sweet mandarin, dark cherries and stewed raisins. The palate is soft, with sweet dried tobacco, orange marmalade and dark chocolate, and the finish is full and long, with cigar box, citrus and pepper.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
