Longrow 100 Proof Batch No. 1 (70cl, 57.1%)

This is the first release in a new 100 Proof series of Longrow, made at the Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown. It is bottled at 57.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle, and is the start of a run of higher strength Longrow bottlings planned to appear each year. The malt spends about four years in used bourbon casks, then a further two years in Pinot Noir wine casks, adding fruit to Longrow's peated character. Longrow was first produced in 1973. The nose combines peat smoke, blackcurrant and a hint of red wine. The palate is soft and earthy, with crème brûlée, vanilla and almonds.
