Longrow 100 Proof Batch No. 2 is a single malt from the Springbank Distillery in Campbeltown, bottled at 57.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It belongs to a yearly series of high-strength Longrow releases. Longrow was first made in 1973 as a peaty, oily and robust component for a blend.
This batch matured for four years in bourbon casks and a little over two years in Rioja red wine casks.
The nose opens with red currants, vanilla and peppercorns, alongside an ashy note. On the palate come peat smoke, tobacco, cigar smoke, dark fruit and leather.
