This Longrow was distilled in 1995 at Springbank in Campbeltown. It spent 8 years in refill bourbon barrels, then a further 2 years in fresh Tokaji casks, which previously held Hungarian sweet wine. It is part of the wood expressions the distillery released in 2005, with 7440 bottles at 55.6% ABV, in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is sweet, with raisins, plums and caramel, a little peat, light smoke and tobacco. The palate is dry and full bodied with a creamy touch, berries, raisins, herbs and peat. The finish is long, with berry jam and toffee apple, and spicy smoke at the end.
