Longrow is the double distilled, heavily peated malt made at Springbank in Campbeltown. This 21 year old limited edition was bottled in 2019 at 46% ABV, in a 70cl bottle, with 3600 bottles released. It is reported to have been matured in 60% sherry casks and 40% bourbon casks.
The nose is sweet and meaty, with glazed cherries, cured salty meats, stewed plums and maple syrup, plus medicinal peat smoke and a touch of orange peel. The palate is sweet, smoky and waxy with citrus, caramel shortbread, marzipan, lemon zest and rich dried fruits. The finish carries the same smoke and waxiness, with a little clove spice.
