Longrow Red is a heavily peated single malt from Springbank in Campbeltown, and this edition is a limited release from 2024. It is seven years old, with four years in bourbon casks followed by three years in French Pinot Noir wine casks, and it was bottled at 57.1% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is herbal and vegetal, with tomato plant, heather, morello cherries and smoky bacon. On the palate sweet and savoury meet in smoked ham, wine gums, raspberry jam and honey, and the finish brings coastal notes to the front.
