Lough Ree Bart's XP Blended Irish Whiskey (70cl, 46%)

Bart's XP is a blended Irish whiskey from Lough Ree, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is the extra peated edition of the Bart's blend, made with additional peated malt to bring out a smokier taste. The blend was created by the children of Bart Clancy in his honour. He was a teacher who mended clocks in his spare time. Most of it is grain whiskey made with maize and aged in bourbon casks. Peated malt and pot still whiskey, both triple distilled and from bourbon casks, are joined by malt from rye and Oloroso casks. The nose is campfire smoke, earthy peat and ripe apple. The palate has peat smoke, BBQ sauce, apples and marmalade, and the finish is long and oily with gentle peat and gingerbread spice.
