Lough Ree Bart's XS Blended Irish Whiskey (70cl, 46%)

Bart's XS is a blended Irish whiskey from Lough Ree, bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is the extra sherry cask edition of the Bart's blend, which was created by the children of Bart Clancy in his honour. He was a teacher who mended clocks in his spare time. Most of the blend is grain whiskey made with maize and aged in bourbon casks. It is joined by triple distilled malt from Oloroso casks, triple distilled pot still whiskey, malt from rye casks and a small share of peated malt. The nose offers caramel, buttered popcorn, mixed spice and pear. On the palate come mouthcoating sweetness, coffee cake and dark fruit, and the finish is long, oily and sweet with cherries and dark chocolate.
