This is a 12 year old Kentucky straight bourbon from Lux Row Distillers of Bardstown, in a 750ml bottle at a cask strength of 59.2% ABV.
After its 12 years of maturation, the bourbon spent a further period in a second barrel, which adds more wood character on top of the first ageing.
The nose offers caramelised oak, vanilla bean, toasted nuts and warm baking spice. The palate is rich and concentrated, with toffee, toasted oak, dark chocolate and cinnamon, and the finish is long and warming, with dark chocolate and spice lingering.
