Mac-Talla Flora (48.2%)

Mac-Talla Flora is an Islay single malt from the Mac-Talla range of Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers, a line made up entirely of Islay malts. Flora is the newest bottling in the range and is only lightly peated. Seventy per cent of the whisky matured in a combination of Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, and the remaining thirty per cent in ex-bourbon casks. Jamie Morrison chose the casks himself. It is bottled at 48.2% ABV. The nose is fresh and floral with a little oak spice. On the palate the peat smoke is soft and mild, with heather and nutty notes, and the finish is fine and elegant, fading to gentle peat smoke.
