This is an Islay single malt from the Mac-Talla range, bottled by Morrison Distillers as the official Friends of Fèis Ile 2026 release. It began as a delicately peated new make, matured in first-fill bourbon casks and then finished for two years in six 225L Cognac casks. It was married for a further month before bottling, and the whole project was overseen at Morrison's Aberargie Distillery.
The whisky is bottled at 52.4% with natural colour and without chill-filtration, in an outturn of 580 bottles.
Butter yellow in the glass, it smells of sweet almond croissants and orchard fruit. The palate brings fresh pastries, poached pears, warm pineapple and toasted coconut, finishing with a hint of peat smoke and winter spices.
