Old Perth Pedro Ximenez Limited Edition #2 (70cl, 54.3%)

A cask strength blended malt Scotch whisky from Morrison Distillers, bottled as the second Pedro Ximenez Limited Edition in the Old Perth range. It brings together malt from five Speyside distilleries, chosen from the larger, more robust styles, including worm tub distillates. The whisky spent its full maturation in first fill European oak Pedro Ximenez sherry casks, four butts and two hogsheads. These were vatted and left to rest for a month before bottling at natural colour and without chill filtration. The colour is plum jam. The nose offers sticky dates, overripe grapes, ginger and cinnamon, and the palate turns to sticky toffee pudding in rich molasses with a little cinnamon spice.
