Mac-Talla PX 2.0 is a cask strength Islay single malt from Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers, a limited edition that returns to the Pedro Ximenez theme of an earlier Mac-Talla release. It was matured in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks and bottled at 52.8% ABV in a 70cl bottle, non-chill-filtered and without added colouring.
Islay peat smoke meets the sweetness of Andalusian sherry. Mac-Talla is Gaelic for 'echo', a name that reflects the Morrison family's link with the island.
The nose offers dark dried fruit, raisins, warm toffee, a sea breeze and gentle peat smoke. The palate is rich and intense, with raisin, Medjool date and chocolatey caramel beside clear smoke. The finish is long and warming, with fine spice and lingering sherry sweetness.
