The 12 year old Double Cask from Macallan, a Speyside single malt matured for at least twelve years in American and European oak casks that previously held sherry from Jerez. American oak adds vanilla and fresh fruit, while European oak brings gentle spice and dried fruit. This version, in redesigned 2025 packaging inspired by David Carson, is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour, and is chill-filtered.
On the nose there is creamy fudge, caramel, candied orange and lemon with vanilla. The palate offers runny honey, soft caramel, raisins, milk chocolate and toffee, with orange peel and cinnamon. The finish is medium in length and warming, with spicy-sweet oak and vanilla.
