Macallan – 12 Year Old Sherry Cask (70cl, 40%)

This is a Speyside single malt from Macallan, matured for a minimum of twelve years in oak casks that previously held sherry. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The sherry casks shape the character of the whisky, bringing dried fruit, spice and firm oak alongside the fruity sweetness associated with the distillery. On the nose there is dried fruit, vanilla, ginger, cinnamon and spicy oak. The palate is round and balanced, with raisins, dried fruit, spice and sweet oak, leading to a long, warm and spicy finish.
