This is a 12 year old single malt from Macallan, a Speyside distillery in Scotland. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky matured for twelve years in oak casks seasoned with Oloroso sherry from Jerez in Spain. Its colour runs from deep gold to a rich natural gold.
The nose offers dried fruit, with sultanas, apricot and plum, alongside vanilla, fresh ginger, golden syrup and floral notes over a thread of wood smoke. The palate is medium-bodied and smooth, with dried fruit, Danish apple pie, citrus peel and malty sweetness. The finish is long, with toffee and ripe dried fruit.
