Macallan 12 Years Old Sherry Oak is a single malt from Macallan's Sherry Oak series, bottled at 40% ABV. It spent its whole maturation in oak casks seasoned with sherry in Jerez, and shows the dried fruit and marmalade character of a sherry-matured Macallan.
The nose is fresh and sweet, with raisins, apple blossom and a clear floral note, then hints of sherry, calvados, tropical fruit and golden syrup. The palate is medium-bodied and fairly firm, with warm pastry, marmalade, raisins and citrus peel, and a growing barley-sugar sweetness. The finish is of good length, with a firm oak note.
