This is a 15-year-old single cask Macallan from Speyside, distilled in 2008 and matured in a first-fill Oloroso hogshead. It was bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as cask 24.175, named Andalusian Daydream, and yielded 322 bottles.
On the nose are dried figs and dates, serrano ham and toasted almonds, with oak and the dried fruit of maturing sherry. With a little water, cocoa powder, black forest gateau, coal dust, molasses and liquorice appear. The finish combines ginger wine, cinnamon and hot chocolate.
