Macallan 15 Year Old Double Cask is a single malt matured for 15 years in two types of oak, American and European, both seasoned with dry Oloroso sherry. It is bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
American oak is described as adding vanilla, citrus and butterscotch, while European oak brings spice.
The nose combines dried fruit, toffee and vanilla with baked apple, honey and chocolate. The palate has sweet raisin and sultana with vanilla, wood spice and citrus. The finish is warm with ginger, turning to caramel and citrus.
