This is Macallan 15 Years Double Cask, a 15 year old single malt bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is a further addition to the Double Cask range.
The whisky matured in a combination of American and European oak, both casks having previously held Oloroso sherry. The result is a balance of creamy sweetness and fiery spice.
The nose opens with butterscotch, raisins, apple pie and oak, with honey and chocolate behind. On the palate come sweet raisins and sultanas with vanilla, wood spice and citrus. The finish begins with ginger, moving into caramel and citrus, with a long, creamy texture.
