Macallan – 18 Year Old Double Cask (70cl, 43%)

Macallan 18 Year Old Double Cask is a single malt matured in American and European oak casks that have been seasoned with Oloroso sherry. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The American oak brings vanilla, orange and toffee, which sit alongside the richer fruit and wood spice of the Macallan style. On the nose there are dried fruits, ginger and toffee, with rich orange and hints of clove and nutmeg. Raisins and sultanas lead the palate, with caramel, vanilla and ginger against wood spice and zesty citrus. The finish is warm oak spice with ginger, turning to sweet orange.
