Macallan 18 Years Old is the Annual 2022 Release, a Speyside single malt from the 2004 vintage, bottled in 2022 at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in sherry oak casks from Jerez, Spain.
The nose is full of sherry, with berries, cherries, ripe oranges, raisins, honey and chocolate, followed by concentrated oak. The palate is soft and silky, with sweet sherry, dried fruit, berries, cherries and orange peel, then wood and dark chocolate. The finish runs medium to long, with dry sherry and fruit, and a little wood and vanilla.
