Macallan – 1841 Replica (70cl, 41.7%)

Macallan 1841 Replica is a Speyside single malt bottled at 41.7% in a 70cl bottle. It was made to mimic a bottle of Macallan purportedly produced in 1841, and is one of four replica releases that also copy bottles from 1861, 1874 and 1876. The series set out to re-create the antique bottle and label designs as well as the nose and flavour of the whisky. This was the third replica, released in 2003 after the 1861 and 1874 versions. Several years later it emerged that many of the antique bottles Macallan had bought were fake, and this was one of them.
