Macallan – 1874 Replica

This is a replica bottling of Macallan, released in 1996 to mimic a bottle of Macallan said to have been produced in 1874. It belongs to a series of four replicas that also recreates bottles from 1841, 1861 and 1876. The aim of the series was to reproduce the antique bottle and label design, and to match the nose and flavour of the original whisky as closely as possible. Several years after release, many of the original bottles Macallan had bought turned out to be fake, and the 1874 was among them.
