This Macallan is a 25 year old Speyside single malt, distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2023 at 54.8% in a 70cl bottle. It comes from a single first fill oloroso sherry butt, cask #12/3, bottled by Signatory Vintage.
It belongs to the Symington's Choice series, which presents casks personally selected by Signatory's founder, Andrew Symington.
The nose brings raisins, dark cherries and orange peel, with chocolate, cinnamon and strong sherry spice. The palate is full, with dried fruit, toffee, cocoa, nuts and spicy oak. The finish is long, warm and dry, with dark fruit, chocolate and oloroso spice.
