This is a 31-year-old Speyside single malt from Macallan, bottled at 41.2% ABV in a 70cl bottle for the Director's Special series from The Single Malts of Scotland. The series draws on long-matured casks selected for it.
The nose combines ripe red fruit and orange with vanilla, honey, nuts and polished oak. The palate is silky, with dried fruit, caramel, chocolate and warm spices. The finish is long and dry, with dark fruit and fine wood spice.
