The 2018 Release of Macallan Classic Cut is the second edition of an annual limited series from the Speyside distillery. It is a single malt bottled at cask strength, 51.2% ABV, with no colouring added and no chill-filtering.
The whisky was matured in sherry oak casks, which bring a dominant sweetness and well-balanced aromas.
After ten to fifteen minutes in the glass, citrus fruit, sweet vanilla and spice come forward. The finish is long and dry, with oak.
