Macallan Classic Cut 2023 is a Speyside single malt bottled at 50.3% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in a combination of ex-bourbon American oak casks and sherry-seasoned European oak casks.
The release is built around fresh pear and almond biscotti, the latter said to come through when a little water is added.
On the nose there are pears and elderflower with light almond and rich vanilla pod. The palate is sweet and creamy with vanilla, juicy pears, lemon peel and delicate oak. The finish is medium, with sweet oak and almond biscotti.
