Macallan Classic Cut 2024 is the eighth release in an annual, limited series of Speyside single malts, each with its own profile. This edition is a combination of American oak ex-bourbon casks and European oak sherry casks.
Whisky maker Steven Bremner chose two strengths for it: the full 52.4% and a version with water added to bring it down to 40%.
The nose is rich vanilla, orchard fruits, marzipan, citrus peel, fresh herbs and sweet oak. On the palate come vanilla custard, milk chocolate, sweet green apple and balanced oak spice, leading to a long, rich and sweet finish.
