Macallan – Classic Cut 2025 Edition (70cl, 50.6%)

Macallan Classic Cut 2025 is the ninth yearly edition in the Classic Cut series, bottled in 2025 at 50.6% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour, the golden shade coming from maturation alone. The whisky matured in European and American oak casks that previously held sherry, together with ex-bourbon casks. The 2025 edition also carries a Cut to Discover idea, which looks at how water changes the flavour: milk chocolate and orange zest at full strength, grapefruit and vanilla panna cotta at around 40%, then apple and lemon zest at around 20%. On the nose, orange oil, barley sugar and milk chocolate meet caramel wafer and warm apple pastry. The palate brings icing sugar, grapefruit, mandarin and lemon meringue, and the finish combines grapefruit and melon with warming oak spice.
