Inspired by Fresh Coconut is the sixth and final release in The Macallan Harmony Collection, bottled at 46.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The Macallan Whisky Mastery Team chose whisky matured in sherry seasoned American oak and bourbon casks to bring out the coconut character that occurs naturally in the wood.
The presentation box is made with paper containing discarded coconut fibres, in keeping with the collection's use of repurposed organic materials.
The nose opens with fresh coconut and coconut milk, then lime, lemon peel, orange, mango and papaya. The palate is sweet lime and lemon sponge with vanilla icing and desiccated coconut. The finish is sweet oak and citrus zest, with lingering coconut.
