Macallan M Black is a peated single malt, and this is the 2022 annual release, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. It was matured in black sherry casks.
The whisky comes in a black Lalique crystal decanter made for it. The smoky spirit gained character and depth in sherry wood over the course of decades.
The nose is ripe apple, pear, orange and dates with light peat smoke. On the palate come honeyed figs, raisins, dark chocolate and ginger, with warming peat smoke running through.
