The Macallan Rare Cask 2024 Release is a Speyside single malt bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle, without an age statement. It is matured in hand-selected sherry-seasoned casks of European and American oak.
The Whisky Mastery Team chose fewer than 1% of the casks maturing on the estate, picking those with a deep ruby colour and an intense flavour. This edition was made in collaboration with Charlie Burchill of Simple Minds, exploring the link between wood and sound.
The nose offers soft vanilla and rich raisins, then apple, lemon and orange. The palate moves from sweet raisins to creamy vanilla, dark chocolate and citrus zest, and the finish is long and velvety.
