An Loy, formerly known as Glenloy, is a single malt from Macaloney's and the distillery's inaugural release. It is the Whiskymaker's Signature Selection, in a 70cl bottle, and each bottle and carton is individually numbered.
The whisky is vatted from 60% first-use Bourbon casks, 15% Portuguese STR red-wine barriques, 15% Oloroso sherry casks and 10% Pedro Ximenez sherry casks. The carton wraps an image of Vancouver Island around its four sides.
The nose brings fruit, flowers and sherry, then oak, vanilla, malt and a sea breeze. The palate is creamy, with caramelised orange, vanilla, potpourri, fruit cake, blackcurrant, honey, wood spices and lingering oak.
