Maclean's Nose (70cl, 46%)

Maclean's Nose is a blended Scotch whisky from Adelphi, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle without colouring or chill filtration. It is named after a coastal promontory near Ardnamurchan distillery and after Charles Maclean, Adelphi's Chief Nose. The blend has a high malt content, at around 70%, and a significant proportion of sherry casks in the recipe. That gives it an oily, coastal character. The nose brings burnt citrus peel, sea salt and bonfire, with nectarine syrup, lime marmalade, hay bales, coal bunker and oily shed. On the palate come puffed rice, rice pudding, white chocolate, lime pickle, Chantilly cream, Ferrero Rocher, hessian, burning heather and smoked praline.
