MacPhail's 40 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from the MacPhail's Collection, bottled by Gordon & MacPhail at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It spent forty years maturing in sherry casks, which Gordon & MacPhail had made to its own specifications.
The whisky is not chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The nose offers sherry with ripe raisins and a clear citrus note. On the palate, dried fruit and milk chocolate meet pepper and the spice of aged oak. The finish is medium in length and nutty, with a fine woody trace.
