Maker's 46 is a Kentucky bourbon bottled at 47% in a 75cl bottle. It begins as fully matured Maker's Mark, taken straight from the barrel, and was the first line extension to the Maker's Mark range since the 1950s.
Seared French oak staves are added to the barrel, and the bourbon then ages a little longer. This extra time is spent only in winter, when bourbon matures more slowly. The result is essentially the standard expression with added spice, bolder and more complex in character.
