Maker's Mark – 46 Kentucky Straight Bourbon (75cl, 47%)

Maker's Mark 46 is a wheated Kentucky straight bourbon, bottled at 47% in a 75cl bottle. The mash bill is corn, red winter wheat and malted barley, and it is made at the Maker's Mark distillery in Loretto. It starts as fully matured Maker's Mark. Seared French oak staves are then placed in the barrel, and the whisky is finished for longer in the cool ageing cellar. The French oak adds richer notes of caramel and vanilla and a little more spice. The nose is caramel and vanilla with oak spice. The palate is caramel, vanilla, deeper oak and a touch of spice, and the finish is long and warm with French oak character.
