This is the 2022 release BRT-02 from the Wood Finishing Series, a limited bourbon from Maker's Mark. It comes from the cooler bottom of the rickhouse and is bottled at cask strength, 109.4 US proof.
The series sets out to take the distillery's classic bourbon in new flavour directions through special barrel finishes.
The nose is seasoned oak and nuttiness with molasses. The palate has dark fruit and chocolate with baking spices, and the finish is long, viscous and round.
