A Kentucky straight bourbon from Maker's Mark of Loretto, bottled at 47%. Seared French oak staves are placed in barrels of fully matured Maker's Mark, and the whisky then ages a little longer in a cool limestone cellar.
The nose is sweet vanilla, caramel and toasted oak, with cinnamon and baking spices. The palate is silky and full-bodied, with creamy vanilla, dried fruit and a hint of seared wood, and a gentle spice that builds. The finish is warm, dry and lightly spiced, with caramel and charred oak.
