Maker's Mark is a Kentucky straight bourbon made by hand in Loretto, Kentucky, in small batches, and sold in its red wax dipped bottle. The mash bill uses red winter wheat in place of rye, and it is bottled at 45% ABV. It is aged to taste rather than to a set number of years.
Caramel, vanilla, toasted oak and soft baking spice show on the nose. The palate is medium bodied, with butterscotch, honey and gentle cinnamon. The finish is warm, mellow and slightly sweet, with lingering oak.
