Maredsous Abbey Distillery – Single Malt (50cl, 47%)

This is a Belgian single malt from Maredsous Abbey Distillery, made from organic-certified malts and bottled at 47% in a 50cl bottle. It is bottled in numbered batches. The whisky is matured in two stages. First comes ageing in American oak bourbon barrels, which gives a pleasing softness and roundness, with woody notes and hints of cereal. A second period in Chardonnay barrels adds the character of the wine, with a pronounced flavour of wine and grass in the long finish.
